Where does real love come from?
In 1 John 4:7–11, John takes us all the way back to the source: “God is love.” We don’t create biblical love. We receive it from God, see it perfectly revealed in Jesus Christ, and then pour it out toward one another.
God loved us.
God sent His Son for us.
We love God because He first loved us.
And because He loved us, we ought to love one another.
But biblical love is more than something we say—it gives. It sacrifices. It serves. It meets needs. It costs something.
In LIGHT ORIGINATES, Pastor Kevin teaches through 1 John 4:7–11 and asks a practical question for every Christian and every church. If we have truly received the extravagant love of God, what should that love look like through our lives, our generosity, our sacrifice, and the way we care for one another? At Reach Church, we believe Jesus is building His church. Our responsibility is to faithfully love, faithfully serve, faithfully give, and faithfully obey—whatever that costs us.
